Part of having the best possible wakeboarding experience means you having access to the right wakeboard rope, as a wakeboard rope is what will link you from the wakeboard to the boat. The importance, then, of this wakeboard role is absolutely vital to making sure that you safely enjoy this thrilling and enjoyable water sport. The first thing that you are going to need in order to enjoy this sport, which is the perfect combination between challenging and exciting, is the balance that is required in order to keep yourself steadily standing on the board while you are being pulled through the water at a truly frightening pace.

Unless you already have experience in surfing or in skiing, then you are going to need to develop some balancing skills in order to be proficient in wakeboarding. If you do not practice your balance skills, you may end up in the water a little fast. Before you begin to wakeboard as a regular, you are going to need to learn how to handle the water, which begins with learning how to lay on your back and float. Your trainer will then teach you how to get into the right position, standing on your wakeboard as the boat pulls you across the open water.

Before you buy a wakeboard rope, you are going to need to have an understanding of all of the different characteristics that a wakeboard rope is capable of possessing. You should never use any other type of rope for a wakeboarding experience, except for real wakeboard rope. Wakeboard rope needs to be capable of withstanding stretches so that you do not face any kind of recoil while you are in the air. Along with a sufficient level of stiffness, the wakeboard rope that you use should also be endowed with an adequate amount of length in order to help you along.

You are likely going to come across wakeboard rope in a variety of different lengths, measuring between 60 feet and 70 feet for example. This wakeboard rope is designed to provide convenience to riders and can be bought in whole lengths or adjustable lengths depending on your needs. The amount of elasticity present in a wakeboard rope may also be capable of varying based on the quality of the rope. Polyethylene ropes, for example, tend to stretch much more readily than ropes made from Spectra. If you are looking to perform airborne stunts, then you should be opting for a tighter variety of wakeboard rope.

If you are still developing your skills as a wake boarder, on the other hand, then you might want a shorter and more elastic rope, which will allow you to get a better feel for what you are doing without all of the recoil. Choosing the right rope is absolutely essential if you want to get the most out of your wake boarding experience next time you hit the water.

Everyone has opinions and, in turn, preferences, from music, to drinks, to whatever else that you can think of. Surfing is no different when you think about it. Different surfing spots offer up different rides due to the terrain of the ground underneath the water being vastly different from one spot to the next spot. Despite all of this, you will still find that there are a handful of spots around the globe that the majority will agree upon that are a “must surf”, and you would benefit from visiting these choice surfing spots sometime in your life.

The Place: The Banzai Pipeline, in O’ahu, Hawaii

Why: This pipeline offers not only some of the best waves, but also some of the most dangerous in the entire world. This is definitely no place for any beginner surfer to go, because the waves here are so intense that even some pros are unwilling to come surfing here. Although this is by far one of the most coveted and one of the most well loved surfing spots, the danger is something that you simply cannot ignore. There are many surfers that have died here, perhaps more than any other surfing spot across the globe.

The Place: Tavarua, in Fiji

Why: Tavarua is fun because of the secret elements associated with it, and there are two world class breaks here for you to take advantage of. You will also find a breathtaking environment, beautiful scenery and coral reefs to take advantage of. Unfortunately, the island is currently being managed by a private surf camp, and so the only visitors that are allowed here are those that are brought in by invitation. Fortunately, this island does host a number of different surfing competitions all throughout the year, and you can watch them online or on television to take in some of the spectacular views from afar.

The Place: Teahupoo, in Tahiti

Why: This is another site where the annual Billabong World Championships Tour is held. Teahupoo allows experienced surfers to really live out their life-long dreams. These beaches offer waves reaching higher than 10 feet into the air, a truly heavy current and barrels that are just perfect. Because of these absolutely perfect conditions, professional surfers from all over the world visit Teahupoo at least once and many amateur surfers make it their dream to someday visit.

The Place: Mundaka, in Spain

Why: This is definitely one of the more famous surfing spots in all of Europe as well as the rest of the world. Mundaka offers the speed and the waves that every surfer seems to crave. The current is nice and strong, and this makes your ride all that much more smooth and fun, but some danger is also added as well. Mundaka is only ideal for the more experienced surfers.

One of the most popular questions that is asked by people learning how to roller skate has to do with the mechanics involved in roller skating. Many brand new roller skaters find themselves wondering how they can achieve acceleration in a forward motion while they are skating on a surface that is flat. Some new roller skaters believe that skating occurs when the weight of the body is shifted forward, back and forth or side to side in order to create a forward acceleration, but this is not quite the truth. So what is the truth about the mechanics behind the art of roller skating?

When you are skating on a surface that is flat using quad skates or inline skates, the safest and the most efficient way for you to achieve forward motion is for you to utilize side push in conjunction with only a minimal amount of body movement.

If you treat each skating foot as if it were an individual scooter, then the forward motion would come from keeping your body weight over only one skate at a time, the employed skate, while you are pushing to the side and then back using the other skate, which is the free skate. The more control that a skater has while keeping the feet close for the purpose of transferring feet, and the more that the skater is able to keep his or her body over the supporting skate or employed skater, the faster the skater will go and the safer he or she will be.

Skating occurs when a number of different right foot and left foot pushes are completed in a sequence, maintaining the concept of using each foot as if it were an individual scooter in order to generate the right amount of momentum. The only body movement that is required is a very slight shift of the skater’s weight in order to keep the main weight behind the head, the chest and the hips situated above the skate that is rolling.

Rollerblading or inline skating techniques are not difficult to learn, but it does take some practice to perfect moves like these in order to get the most out of the basic mechanics behind the sport. If you are not roller skating in this manner, then you are probably utilizing more energy than you should need to, making your inline skating inefficient. If you want to get the most out of your inline skating habit, you have to make sure that you are getting the most out of the mechanics behind the use of roller skates. When you perfect the art of the basic momentum and mechanics of inline skating, that is when you can effectively graduate into tricks and other skating endeavors to get the most out of what your skates are capable of.

Today’s post is by guest blogger, Dakota Roche.

Hey folks, my name is Dakota Roche, I’m a professional BMX rider, but I also enjoy skateboarding quite a bit. I started skating when I was 3 years old and have loved it ever since, in fact, I strongly believe it has helped my BMXing quite a bit and it still does to this day. Actually going out and skating is one thing that I love, but another major part of skateboarding that is motivation in my life are the amazing videos that are produced by skateboard companies and their riders. In my opinion, skateboard videos are some of the most fun to watch, and entertaining videos of all the extreme sports categories (I watch skate, surf, snow and BMX videos). This leads me to what I want to share with everyone today.

So here’s a little insight on skateboard videos for those of you that don’t know. Many actual team videos take as much as 5 years to film and edit but the average are around the 3 year range. Each skater on the team goes out, travels the world in search of great spots to film their hardest tricks in and compile enough footage to produce a video part they’re happy with. Most of the time, the skater then chooses a song(s) in which their footage is edited to and then you have a finished video part. Easier typed than done to say the least! Some problems that skaters encounter during the filming process are: injuries, encounters with the law, getting kicked out of spots, time put into tricks that sometimes never work out and obvious frustration issues… With all that being said and understanding how much work goes into a single project, it’s easy to see how the final production is highly motivating.

I can personally say that there has been days were skating or riding just didn’t sound very fun to do for one reason or another, and those days are completely normal to have. But on those days in particular are when a good skateboard video is going to be your day saver, no doubt. Pop one of those bad boys in and feel the motivation start pumping through your body–it works for me every time. Now, don’t think that skate videos are only meant to be watched on those sluggish days, they’re also a great start to days were motivation isn’t an issue. Watching them helps a lot with understanding certain techniques used by the pros and can ultimately help you learn new tricks.

The moral of the story is that skate videos are quite helpful in a number of ways. My advice to you all is to get on the video watching program before you go out and skate, and see if it doesn’t help your skating, I’m sure it will. Thanks a lot for reading, I hope this information is helpful…. Skate on everyone!

If you are planning on taking up surfing, or just want to brush up on your surfing techniques and skills, you should start with the following list. This surfing 101 list is meant to be a no nonsense beginner’s guide to getting started on the water. This includes safety for yourself, those around you, using your equipment properly and above all else, knowing what you’re doing. Without further ado, here’s surfing 101:

Do not drink any alcohol while you are surfing or just before surfing. When you are surging under the influence of something like alcohol, you are going to be setting yourself up for failure, accident, injury or worse. Drinking alcohol is going to impair your judgment and may even cause your reaction times to slow down which can put you in serious risk of injury.

Make sure that you are aware of other surfers. You need to be aware of who else is in the water at all times. You also need to be aware of the surfing conditions as well as of the location where you are surfing. You should always make sure that you are not taking somebody else’s wave when you are surfing.

Be aware of your limits as well. You should only ever be surfing in the waves that you are comfortable in rather than surfing in waves that can get you into trouble.

Make sure that you are staying in shape, because physical fitness is definitely important when it comes to your health and well being in the water. If you lose your surfboard while you are out on the water, you are going to need to be physically capable of swimming yourself back to shore and this requires being in shape.

Never go surfing within 45 minutes of having eaten a meal. Your body can do some really unexpected things such as causing cramps when you swim this soon after having eaten a meal.

Make sure that you are surfing smart. You need to be aware of when you should be holding onto your board, just as easily as when you should be getting rid of your board. If you are about to have a serious wipeout, then you need to get rid of your board as this is going to prevent you from sustaining many of the injuries that are sustained when you are still hanging onto your board while you are wiping out.

If you find yourself caught in a rip tide, do not panic. When you should be doing instead is paddling parallel along with the beach until you manage to escape the hold of the rip tide.

Make sure that you are always wearing a good sun block product that is water proof as it will keep you from burning from the blistering sun.

There are a wide variety of different skateboarding tricks that you can try to perform out there. They range significantly in terms of level of difficulty. There are a wide variety of different tricks that you can learn, depending on what your own skateboarding skills are and what types of tricks you are actually interested in. If you decide that you want to compete in different competitions then you are going to want to learn a number of different skateboarding tricks so that you will have a much greater chance of earning lots of points and potentially winning the competition.

For the people who are just learning skateboarding tricks for the first time, or if you do not have access to a skate park where you can learn, one of the more common types of skateboarding tricks is called lip tricks. Lip skateboarding tricks involve using a ramp that you can purchase for relatively cheap, or that you can build on your own if you so choose. It is going to take some time for you to get the speed and angle combination down when it comes to building ramps for skateboarding tricks, so keep this in mind and make sure that you are doing your research on the angle of the ramp and the angle of your board, otherwise you may end up having more difficulty with the trick performance. Performing skateboarding tricks is all about having the angles right, and having a bad ramp is only going to make it that much harder for you in the long run.

Another worthwhile category of skateboarding tricks for you to consider is flip tricks. You can easily master these types of skateboarding tricks, and then as you build up your own confidence level you will be able to try out other skateboarding tricks as well. The most popular of all skateboarding tricks is the Ollie, which fits into the category of flip tricks. Another type of flip trick is the kick flip. You are going to find a number of more advanced skateboarding tricks fall into this category as well, especially with more rotations than the basic tricks offer as well.

Another category of skateboarding tricks is pressure tricks, which involve placing pressure on different parts of the board such as the nose of the tail. You need to be really precise when it comes to these skateboarding tricks if you want to get them right the first time. Manual tricks also fall along these same basic lines, allowing you to have good control over the board if you are not moving quickly while you are performing them.

If you want your skateboarding tricks to make you feel exhilarated, what you might try is aerial skateboarding tricks. It will take you time to learn how to get the most out of aerial skateboarding tricks, but if you master what these tricks have to offer, they can be truly amazing. Keep this in mind when it comes to learning different skateboarding tricks and getting the most out of what the skateboarding tricks you learn have to offer.

Before you can learn how to duck dive, you may need to learn what duck diving is and what it is all about. Any breaking wave that is more than two feet high is going to require that you duck underneath the wave rather than floating right over it, and this is where the duck dive term comes from. Duck diving is not something people really learn how to do when they are first learning how to surf, because most beginning surfers are surfing the smaller waves anyway. In fact, most people that learn how to duck dive do so through necessity because they end up having to tackle a wave that was larger than what they were expecting. Still, it may be a good idea for you to learn how to duck dive before you even learn how to stand up on the board.

This way, when you do encounter a wave that is too large for you to simply float over, you will know what to do rather than having to learn very quickly at the worst possible time through necessity.

As you are padding and approaching an oncoming wave, you should be shooting to have as much speed as you possibly can. Approximately two feet before you make contact with the white water, you need to grab both of the rails, or the side edges of the board, particularly about halfway between the midpoint of the board and the nose, and you should push all of the weight in your upper body onto your hands and your arms until you feel as if the nose of the board is about to go under the water. Now you should point your head down, allowing your body to follow suit.

Once your body has gone just below the surface, the next step in the process is to bend your dominant leg, using the knee of your dominant leg to push the tail of your board under the water. The momentum that you create should be enough for you to be quickly thrust under the wave which is passing quickly over you, only requiring you to be under the water for a short period of time. As the wave begins to pass you overhead, you can let the natural flotation of your board to bring you back up to the surface. Now you should have the necessary skill to paddle yourself to the lineup, or you can paddle up to the next wave and duck dive underneath it as well.

It’s not really a difficult process to learn, but it can go a long way in preparing you for real surfing. Once you know how to duck dive to line yourself up for big waves, you can begin to surf the big ones. Practice this technique until you become comfortable, and then you can go out and tackle the big ones, showing your friends that yes, you really can learn to surf on the internet!

Paddling out is one of the first things that you need to learn when it comes to learning how to surf, and for obvious reasons as well. Paddling out sounds like such a simple process, but in reality, in surfing situations, you also have to be simultaneously balancing your body on the water, which is moving, and you need to keep yourself afloat while you are dodging breaking waves. So padding out sounds really simple before you get on your board, and then you find yourself learning how to surf and everything seems so overwhelming. Remember that you need to be willing to start small, and you need to find water where there aren’t any big waves so that you can spend some real quality time learning how to paddle out without getting knocked around too badly on your old surfboard.

The first thing that you are going to want to do is to walk out into the water with your board until you are in the water up to your waist or chest level. You should lay your body across the deck of your board, and you should take special care to make sure that you are centering your weight on the board’s middle in order to keep yourself properly balanced. The natural tendency for most people is to lean back against the board’s tail, but this will cause the surfboard’s nose to rise up and this can create unnecessary resistance when you are trying to move yourself forward.

Instead, what you should do is to keep your chest just a little above the board’s center point. Once you are feeling stable, you can lean forward so that the nose and the tail of the surfboard are allowed to level out. Once you level out, you are ready to get going. Now you should be cupping your hands and alternately paddling your arms. The more resistance that you feel, the faster you will go. As you begin to hit choppy or bumpy water, what you are going to want to do is lightly lift your chest, lessening the weight that you are placing on the board in order to keep your nose and your rails from going under.

You need to remember that you need to be balancing many aspects of your body. Your right side, your left side, your head and your legs all need to maintain a proper level of balance while you are simultaneously paddling yourself out to the line up for a wave. You should practice until you feel comfortable paddling out, because this is one of the most vital skills for you to know. Once you know how to paddle out, you can catch waves and ride them back to shore good and proper. If you never learn to paddle out properly, you will end up nose diving before you hit the wave, and that’s no way to impress your friends.

There are many people in the world that are taking pleasure in rollerblading for fun because it is an exciting sport and makes for a great workout. The sport is generally easy to learn, and learning the maneuvers is often also easy. Rollerblading allows you to be active physically and alert mentally, developing your strength and balance in the process. Rollerblading is also capable of being dangerous, however, especially for people that are still learning how to enjoy this sport properly. There are ways for you to minimize risk and to prevent rollerblading injuries, learning all about rollerblading safely in the process.

- * Helmet: The helmet is protective gear that is specifically designed to keep your head safe. You need to wear your helmet all the time if you want to prevent fatalities and other serious damage. Helmets are not going to guarantee 100 percent safety from harm but what they will do is significantly decrease the possibility that you will sustain a head injury if you fall. You need to make sure that your helmet is properly fitting your head. If your helmet is too big or not big enough, then it will only harm you rather than helping you or protecting you. Small helmets are too stiff and uncomfortable for your head. Large helmets do not properly defend against injuries.

When you go shopping for a helmet, you are going to want to select a style that has groves for good ventilation and a narrowing of the front. Your helmet should be built tough, like ACE Bucky helmets and B2 helmets, which come in a myriad of different styles, models, sizes and colors.

- * Pads: Rollerblader pads such as elbow pads and knee pads are going to be just as vital to your health, welfare and safety as your helmet. If you have suitable elbow and knee pads on, then there is a much lower chance that you will fracture a bone if you fall in an unfortunate way. These protections are capable of supporting you and shielding your major bones and joints when serious accidents happen to occur.

- * Wrist Guards: This is another important piece of gear, functioning to soak up the trauma and shock associated with a fall by protecting your forearms and your wrists. When you stumble or fall, your impulse will be to hand on your hands, which can break your wrists if you are not careful. Wrist guards, then, are vitally important to protecting these fragile and vital bones until you can learn how to fall in such a way that your wrists are not put in harm’s way.

Along with these pieces of safety equipment, it is vitally important that you comply with all of the ethics and laws of the road way at all times. Be sensible and always be aware of your boundaries and your capabilities.
