The Indo Fish
The Indo Fish by Tim Stamps came about when the designer of the board was wondering how a fish board could work in the waves surrounding a boating trip in Indonesia, or any good waves anywhere else on the planet for that matter. The decision was to keep the fish lines, just changing up the details a little in order to see what could happen. The entire outline of the board was narrowed up quite a bit and some more nose rocker was added as well. This has become a good fish board for handling waves as a result, and it can handle point, reef and beach break. The board was originally set up to be a twin keel but you can also find it available in a quad format as well.
This is a nice board with a lot of potential, especially if you like the standard fish shape and the potential for a good wave board. The dimensions are solid, and this board is available as long as 6’10″ if you need the length.

The Bing Single Wing Quad
If you enjoyed the MR twin-fin that was popular during the latter half of the 1970s, then you will like the Bing Single Wing Quad, which is a nod to this oldie but goodie. The Bing Single Wing Quad was designed in order to be a modification on the MR Twin-Fin, but it is offering a rocker that is slightly fatter and an outline that is naturally fuller. Progressing away from the original set up with twin fins, Matt Calvani decided to add on two smaller back fins which is going to allow the board to have more control as well as more responsiveness.
The Bing Single Wing Quad works well in every day types of conditions including knee high waves as well as double overhead waves, making this an excellent choice in a surf board for long boarders that are looking to rid a smaller to mid length board that offers a lot of glide. This board generally should be ridden between 4 inches and 6 inches longer than traditional twin fin fish boards. Currently Bing is offering the Bing Single Wing Quad with future fins, Pro Box fiberglass fins and Canard fins.
Typical Board Size Range: The standard sizes for this board are between 5′ 10″ and 7′ 6″
Typical Board Dimensions: The nose is 18″, the middle is between 19″ and 23 ” and the tail is 16″. You are also looking at a thickness of between 2.5″ and 2 7/8″.
If you are looking for a sturdy long board with plenty of glide, then the Bing Single Wing Quad is definitely going to be a solid way to go, especially if you’ve ridden and enjoyed the twin-fin of years past.

Kite surfing is a sport that has gained significantly in popularity over the past couple of years. This is very understandable, at least if you watch some of the champion Kite surfing events and see how much fun it looks. Kite surfing is also known as kite boarding or fly surfing depending on who you ask. There are certain pieces of Kite surfing gear that you are going to need if you want to get the most out of this sport. The most important pieces of Kite surfing gear include a traction kite, harness, control bar, flying lines and your kite board.
The Kite board - You are going to want to make sure that you are using a kite board that is designed specifically for the purpose of Kite surfing. Large kite boards tend to work better when the wind is gentler, where as smaller kite boards are capable of maneuvering more quickly. Two factors that you need to keep in mind when considering size are weight and skill. The rider will be attached to the board using a leash.
The Kite – Kite boarding kites are specifically designed for two lines or four lines. Kites with four lines tend to be more easily maneuverable. Kites that have inflatable bladders are capable of being launched more easily from the water, but they do not tend to be as efficient. Kite boarders that are more experienced typically make use of ram air kites.
The Harness - The harness in Kite surfing is used so that the heavy pull will be evenly distributed along the entire body. Without the harness, your arms would be turned into rubber rather quickly.
The Flying Lines – The flying lines are typically composed of a thin and strong material that is known as Spectra Fiber. Kites tend to have a recommended length associated with them, but the average length for the flying lines is 120 feet.
The Control Bar – The kite board control bar is what you are going to hold onto in order to control your kite. The bars are specific to two line kites or four line kites depending on which you are using.
Common brands for kite boarding are Naish, Cabrinha, DaKine, Wipika and Slingshot. You should also always make sure to take a lesson and you should be starting slowly with Kite surfing. The gear for Kite surfing can be difficult for you to set up and use when you are not accustomed to it so make sure that you know what you are doing. When it comes to Kite surfing in the water, you need to make sure that you are always aware of your limits and that you know what you are doing in order to best benefit and to make sure that you are constantly kept safe and healthy on the water.

Surfing is a sport that does not require the use of a lot of gear, but the gear that you do need is essential. What this means is that it is important that you choose the right gear when it comes to the sport of surfing. There are a number of factors that go into determining that the best surfing gear will be for you, including your level of ability, your location and the climate in your location. A surfboard, a wetsuit and some other accessories are going to be necessary.
There are a wide variety of different surfboards for you to choose from. Long boards, for example, are surf boards that are 9 feet or longer. These are the best types of surfboards for you to choose when you are learning how to surf. They are capable of floating well and they are also capable of catching slow moving waves. Fun boards are shaped much in the same way that long boards are shaped, with wide noses and tails, but they are shorter as they are between 7 feet and 9 feet in length. These are the best boards for long boarders that are trying to move onto something a little smaller, or for full sized adults just beginning to learn how to surf. Fish boards are generally very short in length, but they are wide, which makes them ideal for the progression forward from fun boards. They work especially well in smaller and weaker surfs and they offer a greater amount of maneuverability than fun boards and long boards.
Short boards tend to be best for the more advanced surfers, and they also offer the best level of performance. They also tend to be the hardest surf boards to paddle on, and are not a good surf board for you to learn on. The two main construction types that you can choose from for surf boards are epoxy surf boards and traditional surf boards. Epoxy is quickly becoming popular because it offers a higher level of strength and a longer length, but many of these boards lack the performance and the drive of a standard traditional construction. The fin set up is another consideration that needs to be made when it comes to your surf board. The most popular design may be the tri fin, but there are also twin fin and quad fin set ups which are chosen for fish boards, and single fin set ups that come with long boards.
For colder climates and areas, you are going to need a wet suit. There are two types of wet suits to choose from, a full suit and a spring suit. If the water is sixty degrees Fahrenheit or less, opt for a full suit. You also need a leash for your surfboard and surfboard wax in order to complete your surfing gear kit.

The Retro Fish board is intended for intermediate and advanced surfers and is a popular alternative to short boards. This board was originally designed in the 70s, and is a shorter and thicker board than short boards are.
