August 24th, 2010 — Consider This, Skating, Surf Skate Wake
Roller blading is a name that has been applied to the inline skating sport as a result of the large role that the “Rollerblade Company” played in creating popularity out of the inline skating sport. Rollerblade, Inc. was not responsible for inventing, manufacturing or designing the very first inline skates. However, the Rollerblade Company or Rollerblade, Inc. was so successful in their endeavor to market inline skates and inline skating equipment, that it led to the term “rollerblading” becoming extremely popular when referring to sports involving inline skates. Not only was this popular at the time, but the term rollerblading is still being used today to refer to the sport, even though the official name for the sport of using inline skates is simply “inline skating”.
Regardless of which inline skate manufacturing company is responsible for building a specific pair of inline skates, most inline skates are simply known as rollerblades in this day and age. The name Rollerblade has become the symbol of inline skating for most people, unfortunately overshadowing a large number of inline skate manufacturers as well as leaving out a lot of information pertaining to the history of inline skating and rollerblading. Many people, despite having skated for years, are unaware of the true history of inline skating, attributing the design and invention of inline skates to Rollerblade, Inc. when they are not actually responsible for the design of the sport.
The official name for all rollerblading or for “blading” sporting is actually inline roller skating or inline skating. The correct name for any rollerblades that are manufactured by a company other than Rollerblade, Inc. is inline skates or simply skates, rather than rollerblades or blades. If you are actually using Rollerblade, Inc. brand skates, then you really are rollerblading. If you are using any other type of skates, then the proper description for the sport is skating or inline skating. The difference between typical skating and inline skating is, of course, the arrangement of the wheels on your skates. This is because inline skates are skates where four wheels are arranged in a straight line from front to back. Roller skates or quad skates also possess four wheels, but they are arranged in the four corners of the skate instead.
Learning more about the history of inline skating is a good way to generate an appreciation for the sport. You might be surprised at what you learn about how inline skating sports came to be and how the Rollerblade, Inc company managed to successfully market them to the point where “rollerblading” became the common name for the inline skating sport and the true inventors behind the inline skate fell to the wayside.

May 25th, 2010 — Surf Skate Wake, Wakeboard Reviews, Wakeboarding
Wakeboarding is a sport that can actually be thought of as a combination of a number of sports: surfing along with water skiing, with a bit of snow boarding thrown in. Wakeboarding is a sport that is performed on the water surface, specifically the wake that is behind a speed boat as it is powering through. Of all of the equipment that is required to wakeboard, there are five types: bindings, wake vest, wake skates, wake ropes, and the actual wakeboard.
There are a number of features and measures that should be considered when shopping for a wakeboard. These will include the boards’ weight along with width and height, the design of the bottom, and the placement and number of the fins located on the wake board. Also important is the rocker, or overall bend in the board from front to back. These rockers come in two varieties, continuous, which is a smooth curve, or that which more closely resembles a skate board, the 3-stage. The continuous style does not change from its tail to its tip, making it a much quicker ride. The 3-stage board offers greater pop and has two relatively distinct bending points.
The length of the wakeboard is going to affect the spin speed, as well as the level of smoothness in the turns. The width of your wakeboard, especially in the middle, the tip and the tail will affect how high it is capable if sitting when it is in the water as well as how hard it can bounce during the wake. When it comes to wakeboard weight, lighter wakeboards tend to be significantly easier for you to maneuver, and the flex patterns also tend to be better, and these characteristics are responsible for affecting your landings as well as your pops.
The bottom designs of wakeboards are a feature that does not change the ride, but is important for allowing the rider to express his or her style. The bottom design on the wakeboard can possibly feature additional parts however, such as a fin, because fin placement is capable of dictating the release that will be unique to that wakeboard. You should also make sure that you are choosing the right binding, because you need to find a foot bed that corresponds well with the length of your foot, and you need to adjust to make sure that the fitting is correct. As you break in your bindings, the materials may stretch considerably so make sure to adjust them as you go in order to make sure that they are always fitting.
Another product to consider is wake skates, which allow you to ride a wakeboard as if it were a skateboard, but in the water. They come in a variety of different sizes, shapes and surfaces on top, and they do not require the use of bindings the way that wakeboards do. You would use skates shoes, and there are no real set standards here.

May 17th, 2010 — Surf Skate Wake, Surfing
If you ask anybody why they decide to surf, they are going to give you their own very unique answer in response. It might be because they find it to be fun, or cool, or a nice distraction from the hectic tolls of every day life. Some people surf because it is their entire life and some people surf because they simply enjoy the water and the thrill of the sport. Everyone has their own unique answer to this question. To some, surfing is their entire life, and to others, it is simply something that they can do when they want to have a week spent in the sun during the summer months. There is nothing quite life surfing out there. Surfing is one of very few sports out there that utilizes the power of the earth and nature so directly. There is nothing mechanic in surfing, it is all purely nature, and there is something really incredible about that.
Once you have a solid reason for why you want to surf, all that is left for you is to start.
The best way to start surfing is to start early and to practice often. There are a wide variety of different ways, in reality, that you can be introduced to the sport of surfing. The most important thing is that you enter into the water with a true willingness to learn, and a real passion for the sport. You have to be serious about surfing if you really want to benefit from everything that this sport has to offer.
How you begin to learn how to surf is going to be unique for everyone. One of the best ways to begin surfing is to have friends that are interested so that you can all go out together and enjoy the waves while you enjoy your friends. It doesn’t really matter whether or not your friends are good at surfing, as what really matters is simply having fun because that is what surfing is really all about. Becoming a proficient surfer is going to take a lot of time and a lot of practice – So rather than starting seriously, why not start out with some fun and see where it leads you?
If you do not have any friends that are interested in surfing, don’t worry. There are other ways that you can learn how to surf, just make sure that you do not go through this alone. Surfing alone when you’re out of practice or new to the sport is dangerous. Surf with a surfing class, with an instructor, or with other surfers at a surfing holiday if you want to enjoy the sport but have no friends with which to do it. Who knows, you may end up making new friends in people that are interested in surfing.
